Warehouse Associate/Class 5 Truck Driver

SHIFT: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

JOB SUMMARY:

This position performs a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient and effective management of receiving and shipping activities to meet customer needs. This position is also responsible for ensuring timely delivery of all scheduled orders as required in a safe and efficient manner in addition to writing up sales orders for walk-in customers. This position requires excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills; planning, organization and multi-tasking ability, attention to detail, as well as, computer skills.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

WAREHOUSE DUTIES

Responsible for receiving, loading and unloading trailers, picking orders, restocking product and shipping with the use of a hand and mechanical trucks
Responsible for counter sales, such as writing up sales orders for walk in customers, assisting them with finding product within the warehouse, and ordering products in for them.
Ensures customer orders are completed
Accountable for productivity and efficiencies of warehouse operations
Ensures all orders are picked and ready for shipment in a safe and timely manner; reports any exceptions to stakeholders
Maintains regular communication with customers/sales staff regarding service/delivery matters
Optimizes the use of warehouse resources to meet customer shipping requirements
Ensures efficient operations are maintained by optimizing availability of efficient and safe equipment, identifying process improvement opportunities, etc.
Reports any damage to equipment or shipments, ensuring photographs and reports are completed.
Maintains a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment
Other duties as assigned which include driving

TRUCK DRIVING DUTIES:

Responsible for delivery of customer orders
Responsible for receiving, loading and unloading trailers, picking orders, restocking product and shipping with the use of a hand and mechanical trucks
Ensures customer orders are completed
Maintains regular communication with customers/sales staff regarding service/delivery matters
Reports any damage to equipment or shipments
Courteous to customers at all times
Maintains a safe driving record
Maintains truck to be safe and in good working order
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1 year in the warehousing or distribution sector
Consistently able to lift 50lbs
Minimum 10 years of driving experience in the warehousing or distribution sector
Minimum 1 year of driving experience at or above the license classification for this position
(including air brake endorsement)
Valid Class 5 Drivers license (or equivalent within province)
Clean personal & commercial driver abstracts are required
Previous forklift and pipe yard experience is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Self-motivated and work well in a team environment
Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities
Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet time sensitive orders
Good computer skills
Industry experience and/or product knowledge is an asset
Attention to detail required
Valid forklift license is an asset
