Position Overview:

This position is responsible for managing the day to day General Accounting functions at our Guelph Facility.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting and financial activities.
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
Perform monthly credit card and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Preparation of monthly financial schedules and supporting documentation for month end financial statements.
Monitor accounts receivable balances and assist with collections as required.
Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as required.
Support Controller by providing requested information and documentation for external auditors and government filings.
Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting issues.
Provide general administrative and accounting support to the Controller and finance team.
Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.
Assist with payroll schedules
Process and distribute customer invoices, ensuring billing information is accurate and up to date.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the finance team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
