COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

LiftWerx is a specialized wind energy contractor which performs large corrective repairs, mainly using crane-less technology. LiftWerx offers both specialized equipment and experienced personnel to perform corrective repairs on a wide variety of wind turbines. The majority of lifting services are performed using up-tower crane technology, which avoids the high cost and disruption of utilizing large conventional cranes on the ground.

JOB TITLE: Licensed Technician with 339A

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Licensed Technician with 339A to join our team. This position is ideal for a candidate who can confidently operate hoisting equipment while also performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy machinery.

LOCATION:

This is an on-site position, based out of our Cambridge, ON office. Hours of work are scheduled from Monday – Friday for a 40-hour week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hoisting Operations:

Operate cranes and hoisting equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with all regulations.
Perform pre-operational inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
Execute lifts according to site plans, load charts, and safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with ground crews and supervisors during lifting operations.

Mechanical / Maintenance Duties:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty equipment (diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems).
Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Education/Qualifications

Valid Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (e.g., 421A or equivalent).
Valid 339A Hoisting Engineer License (Ontario).
Valid driver’s license. A DZ/AZ license is considered an asset.

Experience

Experience in construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
Proven experience with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.

Knowledge/Skills

Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging, and load calculations.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
