Full job description

Overview

The Community Association is seeking dedicated Custodial Services professionals to maintain cleanliness and safety at the community centre facility. This role is essential in ensuring a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for community members, visitors, and guests. Candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards of cleanliness. Prior experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position will require additonal effort and hours of work during the winter season.

Cleaning supplies and equipment are provided.

Duties

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness of designated areas.
Conduct commercial cleaning of office, restrooms, rental halls, kitchen, hallways, and common areas according to established standards.
Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, monitoring and reporting status of cleaning products inventory, and reporting larger issues to the Director, Facility Operations.
Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly used and stored safely.
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain a schedule of regular cleaning duties while accommodating special requests or urgent cleaning needs.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
Must be available 5-6 days of week for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
Must have an alternate team member available as a backup during absence due to illness, scheduling conflicts, vacation, etc.

Skills

Experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
Knowledge of facilities maintenance and basic repair skills are advantageous.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning standards are met.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills for reporting issues or requesting supplies.
Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
