Full job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated occupational therapist with expertise in autism services? Footholds Therapy Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Occupational Therapy Services to lead our team in providing heartfelt, high-quality care to individuals with autism and other developmental challenges. If you are looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Oversee the delivery of occupational therapy services across our Nanaimo and Courtenay locations, providing supervision and mentorship to Behavioural Interventionists (BIs) for best practice implementation.
Program Development: Design and implement evidence-based therapy programs that meet the unique needs of clients with autism, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including speech-language pathologists and psychologists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Client and Family Support: Establish strong relationships with clients and families, providing education, resources, and regular updates on progress.
Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, participating in program audits and implementing continuous improvement.
Community Engagement: Advocate for autism awareness and services, promoting our programs within the community and forming partnerships with local organizations and schools.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
Eligible for the Registry of Autism Services (RAS) or committed to pursuing this recognition.
