Job Summary

Calgary Joyful Piano is looking for a warm, responsible, and passionate Piano Teacher to join our growing studio.

We are a student-focused piano studio in NW Calgary, offering high-quality piano lessons in a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment. We are looking for a teacher who genuinely loves working with children and can help students build strong musical foundations, confidence, and a love for music.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching young students, communicates well with families, and is willing to grow together with a supportive studio team.

Responsibilities

Teach private piano lessons to children and beginner/intermediate students
Prepare students with strong foundations in technique, rhythm, reading, musicality, and practice habits
Support students preparing for RCM exams when needed
Communicate clearly and professionally with the studio owner and admin team
Provide brief lesson updates or student progress notes when requested
Follow the studio’s teaching structure, policies, and lesson expectations
Attend teacher training or orientation provided by Calgary Joyful Piano
Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning experience for every student

Qualifications

Minimum RCM Level 8 or equivalent piano training preferred
Previous teaching experience is an asset, but training will be provided
Must genuinely enjoy working with children
Strong communication and writing skills
Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional
Patient, kind, positive, and encouraging teaching style
Able to follow studio curriculum and teaching guidance
Comfortable communicating with parents in a professional way
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Background check may be required

Schedule

Part-time position.
