Job Overview

Piper Arms Pub Whitby is looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences while preparing high-quality beverages.

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and working closely with the front and back of house teams to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, glassware, and equipment.
Process food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system (Micros POS experience is an asset).
Ensure compliance with Smart Serve, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking bar supplies.
Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to maintain efficient service.
Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, pub, or bar.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and remain organized during busy service periods.
Experience using POS systems (Micros POS is an asset).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Smart Serve Certification is required (or must be obtained before starting).
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night shifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
