Our summer programs provide a meaningful opportunity for young artists to explore their emotions, build friendships, and develop their confidence through art.
Position Overview
Art With a Heart is looking for a dedicated and organized Camp Manager to join our summer programming team for an 8-week contract. Reporting to the Recreation Program Coordinator, this role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the kid's and teen's summer camp programs, ensuring that all activities are delivered safely, smoothly, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the summer camp programs for ages 4–12 and 13–17.
- Supervise and support camp staff, ensuring they are in their correct locations and roles.
- Address participant behavioral concerns, staff coordination needs, and other challenges as they arise.
- Serve as the primary contact for parents/guardians regarding absences, concerns, and camp updates.
- Support smooth communication between staff, families, and leadership.
- Assist in training camp staff prior to the start of camp, ensuring understanding of curriculum, expectations, and inclusive practices.
- Provide mentorship and ongoing guidance to ensure staff feel confident, supported, and equipped.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and creative environment for participants and staff.
- Monitor the quality of programming, ensuring daily activities are delivered to a high standard.
Qualifications
- Experience in Child & Youth Work, Education, Recreation, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a camp, educational, or arts-based setting.
- Strong organizational and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working with children and teens in a group setting.
- Familiarity with inclusive, trauma-informed, and accessibility practices is an asset.
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain).

This is a Government of Canada funded job through the Canada Summer Jobs program. The Applicant must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protections Act [S.C. 2001, c.27]; and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
