Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our team in creating delicious baked goods and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in cake decorating, food handling, and kitchen operations within a vibrant bakery environment. The Bakery Assistant will support daily bakery operations, assist with product preparation, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

Prepared and baked bread and other bakery products.
Mixed, weighed, and prepared ingredients according to recipes.
Operated bakery equipment such as mixers, proofers, and ovens.
Monitored baking times and product quality.
Packaged, labeled, and displayed baked goods.
Maintained a clean and sanitary work environment.
Followed food safety and hygiene standards.
Restocked ingredients and supplies as needed.
Assisted customers with orders when required.
Worked efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures at all times
Package baked items for retail sale
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and baking equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Provide friendly customer service by answering questions and assisting customers in selecting products
Support the team during busy periods by helping with food preparation and packaging tasks

Skills

Experience in restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous, especially within the food industry or bakery setting
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
Basic cooking and food preparation skills, including understanding of baking processes
Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and follow instructions accurately

Pay: $18.75-$19.00 per hour
