Corporate Services Paralegal - Greater Vancouver - #5142

Our client, one of Greater Vancouver's most reputable law firms, has a new position available for a Corporate Services Paralegal.

The Corporate Services Paralegal is a member of the Corporate Services team, and will play a key role in client and matter management. This role will support lawyers, other firm staff members, and clients with unique inquiries. This role requires in-office attendance for all days of the week.

Key Responsibilities

Provides operational, strategic and administrative support for the Corporate Services team.
Coaches and mentors more junior members of the Corporate Services team in day-to-day client work.
Works with the wider corporate practice group to implement legislative changes within the department to ensure compliance with federal and provincial business law guidelines.
Attends meetings with the corporate practice group to take instructions, obtain required information, review corporate records, compile information, report on matter statuses and recommend potential courses of action.
Assists with and supports closings, transactions and the management of key projects.
Assists with the preparation of all documentation within the scope of the Corporate Services team.

Qualifications

Completion of a Paralegal Diploma/Certificate is preferred, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant or Corporate Paralegal, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
High degree of knowledge of relevant legal procedures, statutes and regulations.
Strong attention to detail, with an aptitude for high quality proofreading skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Corporate Services team and the wider firm.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to set and redefine priorities within an occasionally fast-paced environment.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and corporate services technology (experience with ALF, NetDocs, or similar software applications are an asset).
