About this role

We are recruiting for an experienced Intermediate to Senior Electrical Estimator to join our IndustrialInfrastructure team. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Step into a role where your estimating expertise will drive some of British Columbia's most transformative industrial and infrastructure projects. From hydroelectric stations and substations to LNG facilities, pipelines, mining operations, port facilities and critical transportation hubs - you'll be at the helm of multi-year initiatives that shape the province's future.

Our preference is to have this role based in one of our regional offices. However, remote working options are available for the right candidate.

Fully Remote working option is available for the right candidate located in Canada.

Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities

Estimate industrial and infrastructure project costs, assemble quantity take-offs and develop quotation submissions
Prepare requests for quotations, obtain competitive pricing from suppliers, subs contractors, etc.
Develop Quotations for opportunities ranging from $1M to $100M+ in total value
Proof-read estimates for completeness and compliance with scope and specifications
Strategize and maintain communication with Suppliers and Customers
Draft proposals and submit tenders – meeting specialized requirements as needed
Contribute to the development of bid labourmaterial databases
Analyze current practices and pricing, identify areas for cost saving and process improvement
Develop project indirect costs and overheads for each estimate
Support and mentor junior estimators

Your experience and skills

7+ years of experience estimating electrical work relating to high voltage substations, power generating facilities, transit, Water Treatment, LNG Mining, Bulk Terminals, and other industrial systems will be considered
Knowledgeable in heavy-industry electrical estimating work as a general contractor preferred
Electrical Engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and electrical field experience
Relevant Electrical TQ or field experience or, AScT., E.I.T. or P.Eng. status
Demonstrated understanding of industry practices, electrical tendering processes and Bid Depository regulations
Sound knowledge of the electrical sub-trades scope of work and installation methodology
Good understanding of electrical drawings and ability to interpret schematics and P&ID's
Knowledge of Accubid and LiveCount estimating Software
Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
Experience using Bluebeam, AutoCAD or BIM, an asset
Able to build relationships and work effectively within a team environment
Excellent interpersonal and communications skill, both written and oral
Strong organizational and time-management skills, and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
Experience in a leadership capacity, mentoring junior team members, preferred
