Full job description

Ampjack is looking for 1 - Labourer with Sandblasting experience to fill a role on our construction team. We are completing project work that is based out of Cumberland, BC. The work will occur in rural areas from Courtenay to Campbell River, Parksville to Duncan and in the Victoria area. The start and end point for the work will be primarily based out of Cumberland but there will be some relocating throughout the project on Vancouver Island.

The work schedule will generally be 12 hrs./day, Monday through Saturday. Overtime will be paid at 1.5X the regular rate of pay. The shift schedule will be 3-weeks on, 1-week off.

This is for project work. Start date will be ASAP and end date will be approximately end of October/beginning of November, 2026. (End date is subject to change)

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Possess Sandblasting experience
Be safety focused, reliable, motivated, adaptable, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and able to follow instructions
Be physically able to work outside in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
Be capable of walking on uneven ground
Be capable of carrying up to 50 lbs.
Be a proven team player and willing to take direction
Be available for the duration of the program

In addition to the above requirements, applicants with the following qualifications/experience will receive priority consideration:

A resident of the Cumberland/Comox/Courtenay area or Vancouver Island
Possessing a minimum Class 3 valid drivers license or a Class 5 with the heavy trailer endorsement and the ability to get to the project area
Posses a construction background and experience working outdoors
Posses carpentry skills
Posses painting experience using airless sprayers

The successful applicant may be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test prior to the start of employment.

Final rate of pay will be dictated by the level of experience and certifications held by the selected applicant.
