About Us

SMB Counselling Group is a client-centred private practice located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. We strive to provide exceptional care while cultivating a warm, supportive, and collaborative culture where clinicians feel valued, respected, and encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. Our team consists of experienced licensed therapists and social workers with a diverse range of specialties that highlight a variety of treatments including; EMDR Therapy, CBT, DBT, and IFS, etc. We are helpers first, committed to guiding our clients through their mental health journey with compassion and expertise.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mental Health Clinician (RCT-C, RCT, RP, MSW, LP, PsyD, PhD) to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate has a strong record of providing exceptional therapy to individuals, couples, families, etc. (Training/interest in EMDR or Couples Therapy is a strong asset).

Must have a Master of Counselling degree (or equivalent) and be willing to work in person.

Please note: this is a contractor position.

Responsibilities

Provide therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to the needs of each client.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
Maintain licensure and uphold all ethical, legal, and documentation standards.
Attend staff meetings, training, or case consultations if needed.

Qualifications

Required:

Must have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
Valid license as a Mental Health Therapist or equivalent credential in the province of practice.
Ability to provide in-person services.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on building rapport with clients and families.
Must have 3 million practice and cyber insurance.

Preferred:

Training and/or certification in EMDR.
Experience in Couples Therapy.
