Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Convenience Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and maintain a clean and welcoming store environment. Bilingual skills and familiarity with retail sales, POS systems, and merchandising are highly valued to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales and communication skills in a fast-paced retail setting.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and sales processing
Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure proper product placement through effective merchandising
Conduct product demos and upsell items to increase sales opportunities
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including aisles, counters, and checkout areas and bathrooms.
Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
Process transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service
Promote store promotions and new products through effective communication skills
Assist in maintaining organized displays and ensure compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

Bilingual abilities (English and additional language) are preferred to serve a diverse customer base
Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is advantageous
Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
Organizational skills to manage merchandising and inventory tasks effectively
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
Knowledge of POS systems and retail technology is a plus
Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide exceptional customer service
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or evenings if required
