Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the Branch Manager will lead a team of 20 + experienced and professional sales staff, providing steady management, tracking large project opportunities, and acting as the key liaison between Head Office and the branch. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, hands-on manager to step into a well-established, high-performing team and build on its success.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and supporting a team of 20+ experienced sales professionals, providing steady, hands-on leadership.
- Maintaining sales volume and customer relations while managing new products and customers.
- Determining merchandise and services to be sold and implementing pricing policies.
- Managing accounts receivable aging and credit risk.
- Overseeing inventory, including inventory turns and slow-moving, defective, or obsolete stock.
- Monitoring branch costs and expenditures in line with Head Office procedures.
- Conduct regular sales and product training meetings.
- Achieving and maintaining error-free performance as the branch's standard of quality service.
- Ensuring all personnel understand the company's mission and objectives and work toward common goals.
- Equipping employees with the tools, information, and knowledge needed to serve customers effectively.
- Building a working understanding of the branch's customers and suppliers through calls, meetings, and industry events, and ensuring client requests are met diligently.
- Promoting a safe working environment and ensuring all staff understand safe practices and incident procedures.
- Reinforcing respectful communication between departments and helping resolve conflicting objectives.
- Preparing annual, monthly, and weekly plans, setting reasonable goals and deadlines, and monitoring compliance and achievement.
- Leading by example in following all company procedures and policies.
- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of five years of relevant sales experience, or an acceptable combination of an undergraduate degree in business administration (or equivalent) with experience.
- Minimum of five years of leading professional teams.
- Experience in the electrical distribution industry is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Cloud-Based Enterprise Reporting, and proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read, understand, and prepare a budget, as well as interpret basic financial statements and reports.
- Strong ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor the progress of direct reports.
- Skilled in motivating, inspiring, and both giving and receiving feedback with employees.
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to set action plans to achieve business targets.
- A track record of developing subordinates' skills, encouraging growth, and being available to support staff.
- Strong relationship-building skills to cultivate and develop customer loyalty.
- Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to travel and conduct presentations as required.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset, to provide optimum customer service to our valued clients.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $85,000- $100,000
