Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization with strategic vision and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing programs, and ensuring the achievement of organizational goals. This leadership role requires a proactive individual with strong administrative, budgeting, and supervisory skills committed to advancing our mission and fostering a positive organizational culture.

Responsibilities

Provide overall strategic direction and leadership to the organization.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs aligned with organizational objectives.
Manage organizational budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Oversee program management, including planning, execution, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts.
Supervise staff members, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community members to support organizational growth.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain transparency with board members and funding agencies.
Demonstrate respect and understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, ceremonies, values, and worldviews.
Promote culturally safe and culturally responsive services.
Support the integration of traditional knowledge and Indigenous practices into agency operations and service delivery.
Build and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, Knowledge keepers, and leadership.

Skills

Proven administrative experience in a leadership or executive role.
Strong budgeting skills with experience managing financial resources effectively.
Expertise in program management with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Supervising experience with a track record of building effective teams and fostering professional development.
Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and lead organizational change initiatives effectively.

Education

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration, or related field preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Human Services, or related discipline may be considered with significant leadership experience.

Experience

Minimum 7 – 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
Minimum 5 years of senior management or executive leadership experience.
Experience within Child and Family Services, Indigenous Services, Human Services, or related sector.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.
Experience managing complex budgets, funding agreements, and government reporting requirements.
Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: $88,000.91-$140,217.04 per year
