Key Responsibilities
As the Underground Foreman, you will lead on-site underground construction operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Site Supervision & Project Execution

Oversee daily construction activities, including excavation, grading, and installation of underground utilities, ensuring work aligns with project specifications and timelines.
Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials effectively to maintain productivity and meet project milestones within budget.

Planning & Coordination

Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to develop and execute construction plans, schedules, and work strategies.
Review drawings and specifications to identify requirements, resolve discrepancies, and proactively address potential site challenges.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce all safety regulations and company policies, leading daily hazard assessments and toolbox meetings to maintain a safe work environment.
Conduct regular site inspections and take corrective action to ensure compliance with OH&S standards and industry best practices.

Quality Control & Reporting

Monitor workmanship and conduct quality control inspections to ensure all work meets or exceeds project requirements.
Prepare and submit reports on project progress, site conditions, and any issues impacting timelines or budgets.

Leadership & Team Development

Supervise, mentor, and motivate crew members and subcontractors, providing clear direction and ongoing support.
Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Administrative & Operational Oversight

Manage site documentation including timesheets, incident reports, and daily logs with accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are available, maintained, and properly utilized on-site.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

Education & Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in civil or underground utility construction.
Previous leadership or foreman experience in a construction environment is required.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, earthworks, and site development practices.
Experience with construction software such as B2W, Bluebeam, or similar tools is an asset.

Key Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive performance on-site.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
