Gerber Fabric Cutter & Laser Fabric Cutting Machine Operator (3–5 Years Experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Gerber Fabric Cutter & Laser Fabric Cutting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating Gerber Paragon or Gerber Atria fabric cutting machines and a strong understanding of fabric cutting processes in a production environment.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to producing high-quality products while maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Gerber Paragon or Gerber Atria fabric cutting machines accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Set up, monitor, and adjust cutting programs to ensure precise fabric cutting.
Inspect cut components to verify accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Measure fabrics using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Load, unload, and handle fabric rolls and materials safely, including heavy lifting when required.
Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major equipment problems to the maintenance team.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines.
Assist with other manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, or production tasks as required.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience operating Gerber Paragon or Gerber Atria fabric cutting machines.
Experience working in a textile, apparel, upholstery, or industrial fabric manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of automated fabric cutting systems and production processes.
Ability to read production work orders, technical drawings, and cutting specifications.
Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
Comfortable lifting heavy fabric rolls and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating laser fabric cutting equipment.
Knowledge of automated cutting software and production workflow.
Forklift certification is considered an asset.
Experience in apparel, furniture, automotive, or textile manufacturing is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move fabric rolls and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
Comfortable working around industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
