Kennel Attendant – Mackenzie Boarding Kennels

Mackenzie Boarding Kennels is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. If you love dogs and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for dogs staying at the kennel.
Feed and provide fresh water according to each dog's individual care instructions.
Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, food and water dishes, and common areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Monitor the health, behaviour, and overall well-being of dogs and report any concerns.
Supervise and participate in individual and group exercise and enrichment activities.
Administer medications as directed and maintain accurate care records.
Assist with client drop-offs and pick-ups while providing friendly customer service.
Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and well maintained.
Work collaboratively with other team members to provide exceptional care for every dog.

Qualifications

Previous experience working with dogs or other animals is considered an asset but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Comfortable handling dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Positive attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive tasks including standing, walking, bending, and cleaning throughout the shift.
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and statutory holidays, as these are our busiest times.

Additional Requirements

A valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle are required.
Mackenzie Boarding Kennels is located near the Fort McMurray Airport and is not serviced by public transportation. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
