OPERATIONAL FLIGHT WATCH - LEAD DISPATCHER

Bailey Helicopters is seeking an Operational Flight Watch - Lead Dispatcher in our Dispatch department. This position is based in Fort St. John. Flight dispatchers frequently work under pressure in a fast-paced environment especially when flying weather is poor. They are surrounded by employees, customers, telephones, and intercom systems in a noisy, busy atmosphere and carry on the duties of a meteorologist and schedule coordinator. The dispatcher maintains a constant watch on all flights dispatched and may need to relay information as needed to employees in the field. The Lead Dispatcher will work Saturday to Wednesday, and maybe be required to work some nights and holidays on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities
- Flight Following and monitor progress of ALL company flights, from departure to landings until aircraft is down and clear.
- Take aircraft bookings and ensure passenger manifest.
- Confirm booking details with clients and pilots, updating any trip information as required.
- Ensure that pilots meet all client requirements and standards (e.g., Contrail Aviation duty times, hours, etc.).
- Actively support and participate in the Company Safety Management System (SMS) program.
- Track and file all company Flight Itineraries and Flight Risk Assessments.
- Maintain and store all fuel records for Quality Assurance purposes.
- Ordering fuel for bowsers in consultation with the Vice President of Operations and Dispatch Supervisor.
- Provide support to field staff for all field related issues (e.g., fuel cache tracking, hotels, rental vehicles, etc.).
- Dispatch all aircrew for flights.
- Complete weekly aircraft status for flight operations.
- Work in direct contact with the Vice President of Operations , Chief Pilot and Director of Maintenance for dispatch of aircraft and aircrew.
- Responsible for activating Emergency Response Procedures in cases of emergency.
- Provide thorough weather briefing to all aircrew, report changes as required; monitor for significant changes and relay as needed.
- Update customer monitored websites daily with accurate pilot and aircraft information.
- Maintain working knowledge of all company aircraft and equipment limitations for dispatching purposes.
- Maintain annual currency in company dispatch through company training.
- Complete administration tasks such as: answering phones, photocopying, filing, faxing, etc.
- Assist in ensuring aircraft, hangar and vehicle cleanliness.
- Other duties, as required.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Previous experience in a dispatching role or similar an asset
- Grade 12 education
- Valid Air Operator Radio License considered an asset
- Customer service focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical, organized and able to problem solve, with excellent attention to detail
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence
- Experience using MS Office, and an aptitude for learning various computer systems
- Willingness to take action when directed
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
