Full job description

Central / Northern Ontario Company Job Title: Sales & Business Development Manager — Ready-Mix, Aggregates, precast and prestressed concrete, as well as landscape and finishing products

Position Summary

The Sales & Business Development Manager leads commercial growth for family owned well established and forward-looking group of companies by expanding market share, strengthening contractor relationships, and driving revenue across residential, commercial, institutional, infrastructure and mining markets. This role requires a strong understanding of ready-mix operations, pricing strategy, customer service, and coordination with dispatch, batching, quality control, and logistics teams.

This position reports directly to the President/CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a proactive sales plan to expand the group of company’s footprints in Central / Northern Ontario and surrounding regions.

Customer Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with contractors, developers, municipalities, and engineering firms etc.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts to support repeat business and long-term loyalty.

Pricing & Contract Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements that align with profitability targets.

Sales Forecasting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance dashboards for leadership review.

Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, customer trends, and regional construction cycles to adjust sales strategy.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with dispatch, batching, quality control, and logistics teams to support timely delivery and high service standards.

Technical Support: Provide product recommendations and basic technical guidance on mix designs, precast applications etc.

Customer Issue Resolution: Address service issues, rejected loads, and delivery challenges promptly and professionally.

Brand Representation: Represent the group of companies at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.

Ecommerce, Online Marketing & Digital Sales Enablement: Support digital sales growth by helping maintain online product information, supporting online marketing campaigns, responding to web-generated leads, improving quote-request workflows, and coordinating with internal teams to turn ecommerce inquiries into confirmed orders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
5+ years of sales experience in ready-mix, construction materials, aggregates, precast, or related industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Central / Northern Ontario and beyond.
Technical understanding of concrete products, mix designs, and construction workflows is considered an asset.
