Starsky Fine Foods is seeking an experienced Meat Department Manager for its Hamilton location at 685 Queenston Road.

Responsibilities Include:

Overseeing the day to day operations of the department.
Merchandising, quality control, maintaining cleanliness and overall organization of the department.
Staff management and training, scheduling, and customer service.
Cutting and preparing meat products.
Assist customers with special orders and oversee the special orders system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience managing a meat department
Butchery cutting skills required
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
High level of organizational skills and task prioritization.
The ability to plan, control and organize to ensure departmental objectives are meet daily.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and solve problems effectively.
Superior understanding of market trends, suppliers, vendors and the meat industry at large.
Ability to manage, motivate, coach, and develop employees to meet business objectives.
