Construction Bookkeeper (Independent Contractor)

Location: Burlington, Ontario
Schedule: Approximately 3 days per week (in-office)
Position Type: Independent Contractor / Consultant

About Us

Burlington Drywall Services Inc. is a well-established drywall contractor serving residential and commercial clients in Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton and the surrounding areas. We are looking for an experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time, in-office consulting basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and has some understanding of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping functions of the business, including:

Full-cycle bookkeeping
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Payroll processing
HST remittances
Job costing and project tracking
Progress billing and payment tracking
Managing subcontractor and supplier payments
Collection of outstanding receivables
Preparation of month-end financial reports
Assisting with year-end preparation and working with our external accountant
Maintaining organized and accurate financial records

Qualifications

We are specifically looking for someone with construction industry bookkeeping experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience working for a construction contractor or construction-related business
Experience processing payroll and government remittances
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational and communication skills
High attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Schedule

Approximately three days per week
In-office in Burlington, Ontario

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
