Education Required:

B.Sc. in chemistry or any scientific/engineering discipline, or a minimum of a 2 year Technician/Technology Diploma and two years experience in a commercial laboratory, or a 3-year Technician/Technology Diploma and one year experience in a commercial laboratory

Requirements:

1. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and drive

2. Detail oriented, motivated and pro-active

3. Technical competence in many aspects of the process; problem solver

4. Strong computer knowledge and skills

5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

6. Demonstrate common sense, strong organizational and prioritizing skills

7. Ability to work as a team member, work well unsupervised

8. Demonstrate willingness to put in the needed effort to meet company goals of improved TAT, quality and reduction of costs

Responsibilities: The following responsibilities may include some or all of the following or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the Lab Supervisor or Department Manager

Compliance with ALL safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used
Documentation of all training at the time of training
May be assigned to train new laboratory technicians; ensuring training is in compliance with ALL safety procedures
Sample dissolution according to Quality Operating Procedures (QOP) or standard methods when required
General chemical and reagent preparations according to Quality Control Procedures (QCP), when required
Maintenance of all required logs, files, etc. for area of testing
Maintenance of sample storage areas including sample storage logs
Maintain stock of consumables in supply room
Assist in ensuring turn-around time meets LIMS/Support site due dates by working overtime when required/authorized
Assist in maintaining departmental housekeeping I acknowledge reading and understanding the above job description.
