Full job description

As a member of the housekeeping team, this individual is to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, employees, families and all Hospice visitors. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required, as well as, following procedures and policies established by Alberta Health Services guidelines.

Role Includes:

Perform cleaning duties that include, but not limited to:
Dusting, disinfecting, mopping and vacuuming in all areas of the hospice
Cleaning resident rooms
Disinfecting beds and rooms between admissions
Assume any other related duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper

Job Requirements:

Must be physically fit, able to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods of time
Must be aware of one’s own limitations and strengths in emotionally sensitive situations and be able to react calmly
Flexible and adaptable in a new and changing environment while maintaining a feeling of peace and comfort in the hospice home
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Must be reliable and punctual
Willing to complete additional palliative care training

Hours of Work:

Hours of Work: Casual role – day shifts include weekdays and weekends
Day shifts include both 7am-3pm and 8am-4pm shifts

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience in a health care environment is preferred.

Hiring Requirements:

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search.
