Years of hands-on industrial experience are exactly what the next generation of safety-trained workers needs to learn from ‚ and you don't need a teaching background to share it. You just need the desire to coach and pass on what you know.

We're now accepting applications for our Train the Trainer program, which prepares experienced professionals to lead industrial safety courses including Confined Space, Fire Watch, Fall Protection, and more.

Irwin's Safety is hosting a Train the Trainer to develop Industrial Safety Instructors in Kelowna July 13-17, 2026. Completion of this program creates flexible instructor opportunities working with Irwin's Safety.

This opportunity is ideal for:

Tradespeople and field professionals ready for a career path that keeps them connected to industry without the physical demands of being on site.
Educators with a teaching background who want to apply their skills in a high-impact industrial safety setting.
Retirees or experienced professionals looking to supplement their income while sharing their knowledge and supporting workplace safety training.

Industry experience

Qualifications   

Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ industry experience OR experience teaching (preferably adult education)
Must be physically able to move and set up the necessary equipment
Must be able to travel throughout the province, if needed
Comfort with classroom technologies
Classroom management skills
Patience and willingness to adapt to meet the needs of different learning styles
Reliability and time management 
Possess driver's license and own transportation
Must possess a laptop

Responsibilities as and Irwin's Instructor

Prepare required material / lesson plan prior to course delivery
Using a variety of adult learning techniques, deliver course material and exam   
Mentor students as needed
Adhere to all Irwin’s Training Management System
Complete and return course paperwork in a timely manner

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $400.00 per day
