Job Summary
Are you an experienced countertop installer ready to take the lead? We're looking for a Lead Installer to run a crew of 2-4 and oversee the installation of high-end, complex stone and porcelain surfaces.
The ideal candidate will be completely independent and comfortable managing all aspects of complex installation projects. You'll be responsible for directing your team and ensuring the successful completion of a variety of installations, including countertops, cladding, facades, shower systems, fireplace elevations, and staircases.
This role requires a deep understanding of complex materials such as Granite, Large Format Porcelain, Travertine, Marble, Dekton, and Limestone. Our work specializes in highly complex designs and abstract installations that demand extensive problem-solving skills, strong mathematical aptitude, and critical thinking. We're looking for someone with a proven track record and expertise in intricate operations, including complex miters.

Duties
Project Management & Leadership
- An expert stone installer's duties are extensive, requiring a blend of technical skill, artistic vision, and leadership. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Supervise & Lead a Crew: Direct and manage a team of 2-4 installers, delegating tasks and ensuring the project stays on schedule.
- Coordinate with Clients & Designers: Communicate directly with customers and project managers to review project plans, clarify specifications, and address any concerns.
- Quality Control: Inspect all work to ensure it meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and design.
- Problem-Solving: Use critical thinking and mathematical aptitude to solve complex installation challenges and handle unexpected issues that arise on site.
- Logistics: Manage the loading, transport, and unloading of materials, ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are available for the job.
Technical Installation & Craftsmanship
- Precise Measurement & Layout: Accurately measure and create templates for complex designs, accounting for all cuts, seams, and angles.
- Material Expertise: Work with a wide range of materials, including Granite, Large Format Porcelain, Travertine, Marble, Dekton, and Limestone, understanding their unique properties and installation requirements.
- Fabrication & Cutting: Perform on-site cuts, polishing, and shaping of materials to ensure a perfect fit, especially for intricate designs like complex miters.
- Installation of Complex Systems: Install a variety of projects, including countertops, cladding, facades, shower systems, fireplace elevations, and staircases.
- Finishing Work: Complete all final touches, such as sealing seams, filling joints, and polishing surfaces for a flawless finish.
Safety & Site Management
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Maintain a safe work environment for the entire crew, following all company and OSHA safety standards.
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Prepare the work area by removing old materials and ensure the job site is clean and organized after every installation.
- Tool & Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain tools to ensure they are in good working order.
Skills
- 5 + years in the stone industry - and currently employed in the stone industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $64,000.00-$71,000.00 per year
