Position Summary: As the Quality Manager at Mucci Farms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all quality assurance operations to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer specifications, and company quality standards. This role manages and develops quality teams, monitors product quality throughout receiving, storage, production, and shipping processes, and collaborates with sales, procurement, and operations to drive continuous improvement, minimize product rejections, and maintain the highest standards of produce quality across the organization.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Effectively manages and implements policies as they relate to produce quality, inspection and finished goods evaluation

Routinely monitors, verifies, trains and provides direction to Quality teams on their accuracy of inspection and produce evaluation

Constant coaching of direct and indirect employees on quality standards

Communicates daily with the sales, procurement and operations teams on all issues related to fresh produce. Make recommendations on quality issues or recurring patterns

Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, storage, and shipping of fresh produce. Identify any issues to senior management

Responsible for Multi Shift QA Operation, 24/7

Succession planning and development of direct report staff

Ensure compliance with CFIA and USDA policies and procedures

Monitor and report on any product rejections, identify key customer rejection trends and Co-chair evaluation/ corrective action committee

Ensures all quality specifications are up to date and distributed/ available to organization in a timely manner

Ensures constant communication with production, procurement, commodities and sales team on product quality (or change therein)

Apply continuous improvement approach to all facets of Quality team and program

Assist in building, recruiting, onboarding and liaise with all operating QA teams across the enterprise in association with site level Warehouse Managers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Completion of post-secondary education in Quality or related field is strongly preferred
-
3-5 years in the Produce Industry working with commodities such as Peppers, Cucumbers, Tomatoes etc.)

Must be able to flex schedule to offer support to “off shifts” as necessary for employee support and development, (afternoons & midnights)

3-5 years’ experience in a progressive managerial role

Proven ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations

Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization (written, oral and spoken) in English

Must be willing and able to present information to all levels of the organization, including executives

Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Outlook at an intermediate to advanced level strongly preferred

Knowledge of Famous and RedLine Cooler programs (for inventory management) will be considered an asset

Must be able to work independently or within a team setting

Positive attitude, punctual and willing to grow within the company
Physical Abilities:

Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time

Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs

Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs

Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.

Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.
Compensation: 95,000-105,000 annually, company benefits, RSP contributions, on-site parking, company perks
