Co-op Social Media Manager

Company: Mushkey Jewels

Location: Cambridge and Kitchener, Ontario
Work Arrangement: In-person with some remote content-planning responsibilities
Hours: Part-time or full-time based on co-op program requirements
Compensation: To be discussed based on the school’s co-op program and placement requirements

About Mushkey Jewels

Mushkey Jewels is a growing jewelry and accessories business with locations at Cambridge Centre and Fairview Park Mall. We specialize in permanent jewelry, personalized engraving, body piercing, custom jewelry, charm-bar experiences, and fashionable everyday accessories.

We are looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic co-op student to support our social media presence, digital marketing, and content creation.

Position Overview

The Co-op Social Media Manager will help plan, create, post, and monitor engaging content across Mushkey Jewels’ social media platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with the owner and team to promote products, services, events, special offers, and the overall Mushkey Jewels brand.

This position is ideal for a student interested in social media, marketing, photography, videography, content creation, fashion, jewelry, retail, or entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
Film and edit short-form videos, including Reels and TikToks.
Photograph jewelry, services, staff, store displays, customers, and special events.
Write captions, promotional descriptions, calls to action, and hashtags.
Develop and maintain a weekly or monthly social media content calendar.
Schedule and publish approved social media posts.
Help promote new products, permanent jewelry, piercing services, engraving, sales, workshops, and store events.
Research current social media trends, popular sounds, content ideas, and competitor activity.
Assist with planning giveaways, collaborations, influencer partnerships, and promotional campaigns.
Respond professionally to approved comments and messages when assigned.
Encourage customers to tag Mushkey Jewels and share their experiences.
Help collect customer testimonials and user-generated content with permission.
Monitor content performance, including views, reach, engagement, follower growth, and conversions.
Prepare basic reports identifying successful content and areas for improvement.
Maintain consistent branding, messaging, and visual presentation.
Follow company privacy, consent, and customer-service policies when filming or posting content.
Support other marketing and store-related projects as needed.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university co-op program.
Interest in social media, digital marketing, content creation, photography, videography, fashion, jewelry, or retail.
Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Canva.
Basic video-editing skills using CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express, or similar programs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative, dependable, organized, and comfortable sharing new ideas.
Able to follow brand guidelines and complete work by assigned deadlines.
Comfortable filming products, services, store activities, and team members.
Able to travel to both Cambridge Centre and Fairview Park Mall when required.
Previous social media or content-creation experience is an asset but not required.

Preferred Skills

Photography or product-styling experience.
Knowledge of social media analytics.
Experience creating Reels or TikTok videos.
Understanding of current beauty, fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle trends.
Experience with Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms.
A portfolio or personal social media page demonstrating content-creation skills.
