Job Description
SpiderSmart Learning Center (Waterloo) is seeking enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our team as Part-Time / Full-Time Summer Tutors for a 6-week program (July 13 to August 21, 2026).

In this role, you will work with students in small-group settings using our ready-to-use SpiderSmart curriculum, with opportunities to contribute to the development and expansion of our online Reading Program.

We are looking for teachers who can deliver engaging and effective Reading & Writing instruction to students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 in a supportive learning environment.

What We Offer

Competitive hourly compensation
Full-time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Part-time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
Opportunity to help develop and expand our online Reading Program
A supportive, caring, and professional work environment

Responsibilities

Teach small-group sessions (up to 8 students) following the SpiderSmart curriculum and methodologies
Lead afternoon sessions for small groups (up to 5 students per class)
Provide individualized feedback and guidance to support student improvement
Track student progress and communicate results effectively
Foster a positive, focused, and encouraging learning environment

Qualifications (Required)

Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), or accepted into an OCT program (starting September 2026 or earlier)
Minimum of a three-year postsecondary degree
At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

Experience working with children in classroom or tutoring settings
Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles and academic levels
Passion for education and student development
