Overview
We are a growing optometry practice based in Lake Country, B.C. Our mission is to provide Lake Country and surrounding areas with the highest quality of vision care, products, and services. Our exceptional, friendly staff is our greatest asset and we are looking for a dynamic, professional individual to join our team.

As a receptionist at Lake Country Optometry, you will create an efficient experience for all patients and visitors, while also supporting Optometric Assistants, Opticians, and Optometrists. You will serve as the central point of communication and coordination within the practice. The right candidate is open-minded, self-motivated, willing to take on responsibility, and able to work within a team.

Responsibilities

Greet patients with a warm and professional demeanor
Coordinate appointments by taking accurate information from calls received
Address inquiries and direct calls with speed and efficiency
Answer and maintain website inquiries for scheduling appointments
Collect required health information before eye exam
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and packages.
Update electronic health records and patient files using patient management software, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations
Use and maintain third party billing, financial records, and database as assigned
Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives including staff meetings, continuing education and conferences.

Experience

High school diploma or GED, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Previous experience working as a receptionist or optometric assistant, or experience in an optometry/medical clinic, is preferred
Organized, flexible, and able to meet changing work needs and demands.
Strong knowledge of computer systems including use of Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation with a focus on building positive relationships with patients
