Full job description

Title: Buyer (Contract role for 18-months)

Reports to: Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager/ Director

Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Kingsville, Ontario

Revision Date: May 2026.

Type of Employment: Full time, 18-month contract, 5-6 days a week which includes, extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which will include some half day Saturdays.

Responsibilities Include:

Manage Direct and or Indirect procurement, spend and purchasing, which will include MRO, Corrugate, Resin, CAPEX, and Labels
Maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors
Accurately track and monitor all open purchase orders, ensuring pricing, quantity and ship dates are held
Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate safety stock levels
Ensures inventory control measures are performed in an efficient and timely manner
Provide regular updates on inbound shipments
Work with cross functional teams and assist the Inventory Control team with maintaining proper inventory levels
Monthly Inventory counting
Monthly reporting on cost save measures
Holding suppliers accountable to KPI’s
Maybe asked to complete other tasks based on skills and qualifications

Qualifications:

Completion of Post-Secondary education in business or related field is required
At least 1 year of experience in Purchasing/Buyer role
Previous experience in a CPG, Food packaging, or related industry is strongly preferred
Previous experience negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers is required
Previous experience with full-cycle RFQ process is required
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook is required
Working knowledge of Famous software would be an asset
Able to perform daily, weekly and monthly reporting and balancing of pallets and crates to suppliers
Reporting of inventory and costing at the end of each month using Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of the organization

Physical Abilities:

Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F

Compensation: 50-58K, on-site parking, other company perks.
