Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Guide to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves developing and implementing engaging curricula that promote the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children in our care.
Timeline - 4-6 weeks
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Monitor and assess children's progress in various areas including literacy, math, and social skills.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's development and address any concerns.
- Provide individualized support for children with special needs or those requiring early intervention.
- Mentor and support Level 1 and Level 2 staff to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant documentation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for early childhood education.
- Experience working with children in various settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to implement literacy education strategies that foster reading readiness.
- Experience in teaching physical education or incorporating physical activity into daily routines.
- Knowledge of standardized testing practices as they relate to early childhood education.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other innovative teaching approaches is a plus.

What we are looking for:
- Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification (Alberta).
- Experience leading classrooms or mentoring educators.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Passion for early learning and holistic child development.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
