Role Summary:
The Coordinator, Student Career Development serves as the primary point of contract for students seeking career development support and guidance. This role will support students in exploring career pathways, developing career readiness skills, and accessing experiential learning opportunities. Working collaboratively with students, employers, alumni, faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance career outcomes and support student success
Responsibilities:

Support students in developing career plans that align with their interest, goals, education, and aspirations.

Provide timely, professional, and high-level support and guidance to students, employers, alumni, and community partners engaging with the Careers & Experiences department.

Provide guidance on career readiness topics including networking, job searching strategies, interviewing, professional communication, and personal branding.

Assist students in identifying, preparing for, and applying to internships, volunteer opportunities, mentorship experiences, and other career-related experiences.

Provide individualized feedback on resumes, cover letters, applications, and other materials requested for job applications.

Support students exploring graduate and professional educations pathways, assisting with school applications and preparing documentation.

Coordinate and deliver workshops, presentations, programing, and other career development events.

Collaborate with the Partnership team to maintain awareness of internship, volunteer, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities offered and align prospective opportunities with student interest and goals.

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports using institutional systems (Salesforce).
Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution required.

Career Development Practitioner certification, educational counseling and advising, or other related professional training is considered an asset.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in career development, student services, advising, workforce development, recruitment, community engagement, or a related field.

Knowledge of career development principles, career readiness programming, and experiential learning opportunities.

Understanding of post-secondary student career pathways and graduate/professional education options.

Exceptional customer service relationship-building skills to represent Huron professionally in all interactions.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience working with CRM systems for data tracking and reporting, Salesforce preferred.

Strong presentation, communication, and coaching skills with an understanding regarding student-centered support.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive situations.

Demonstrated commitment to student success, collaboration, and service excellence.

Flexibility to work outside of traditional office hours and travel to partner events and networking opportunities as needed.
