We are seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and student-focused Economics Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will teach senior-level Ontario curriculum courses, including CIA4U – Analysing Current Economic Issues and BBB4M – International Business Fundamentals. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about economics, business, and global issues and is committed to preparing students for post-secondary success.

Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
Teach CIA4U and BBB4M using a variety of instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application.
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Assess student learning through assignments, projects, presentations, tests, and examinations.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate academic records.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress.
Integrate current economic events, global business trends, and technology into classroom instruction.
Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as appropriate.Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Commerce, Finance, Education, or a closely related field (master's degree considered an asset)
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant teaching experience and strong subject matter expertise are encouraged to apply.
Experience teaching senior secondary students, particularly within the Ontario curriculum, is considered a strong asset.
Experience teaching Ontario Grade 12 university or university/college preparation courses.
Familiarity with Ontario curriculum expectations for CIA4U and BBB4M.
Experience using learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom, or Canvas).
