Marketing and Social Media Summer Intern

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Position Type: Summer Internship, Full Time

Duration: 8 Week Summer Program

Hours: 35 hours per week

Compensation: $17.60/Hour

Start Date: As soon as possible

About Alleviate Physiotherapy

Alleviate Physiotherapy is a fast growing, community focused rehabilitation and wellness clinic dedicated to helping individuals recover, move better, and live pain free through evidence based and patient centered care. Founded in 2019 by Bhavesh Dhoka, we provide a collaborative multidisciplinary approach across our Etobicoke, Mississauga, and Clarkson locations, offering services including physiotherapy, massage therapy, Chiropractor, acupuncture, naturopathy, osteopathy, and rehabilitation therapy. Our mission is to empower the community to achieve optimal mobility, strength, and functional independence through innovative healthcare, compassionate treatment, and a commitment to long term wellness.

Position Overview

The Marketing and Social Media Summer Intern will play an active role in managing and growing the clinic’s digital presence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys social media marketing, running advertisements, creating engaging healthcare content, capturing clinic media, and staying current with digital trends and AI marketing strategies.

The successful candidate will help promote the clinic through creative campaigns, short form content, paid social media ads, photography, website coordination, and community engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Google Business Profile
Capture photos and videos of the clinic environment, therapists, treatments, exercises, and patient focused content while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality standards
Run and monitor paid social media advertisements on Meta platforms including Instagram and Facebook
Assist with ad targeting, campaign setup, audience engagement, and performance optimization
Create reels, short form videos, graphics, captions, and promotional content based on current healthcare and wellness trends
Use AI marketing tools and content generation platforms to support marketing strategies, research, campaign planning, and creative development
Assist in organizing, updating, and coordinating website content, landing pages, blogs, and promotional material
Ensure website and social platforms remain current, visually appealing, and aligned with clinic branding
Research current healthcare, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and wellness industry trends to improve online engagement and brand visibility
Monitor analytics, engagement metrics, social media growth, and advertising performance
Support SEO initiatives including keyword research, blog optimization, and local search visibility
Collaborate with therapists and administrative staff to create educational and patient friendly healthcare content
Support additional marketing, administrative, and promotional projects as needed

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Business, Advertising, or a related program
Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and current social media trends
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar design and editing tools
Knowledge of social media advertising and digital marketing strategies
Familiarity with AI tools related to marketing, content creation, analytics, or campaign management
Basic understanding of SEO, website content management, and digital analytics is considered an asset
Comfortable capturing photos and videos using a smartphone or camera
Strong communication, organizational, and creative skills
Self motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and comfortable working independently
Interest in healthcare, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, fitness, or wellness industries is preferred
