As a leader in the Sign industry in Atlantic Canada, Hansen Signs Ltd. is responsible for the Design, Manufacturing, Installation and Maintenance of some of the “coolest” & highest quality signage available anywhere. We now have an opening for a experienced Fabricator & welder.

Duties Include:

Fabrication, Cutting, and Welding of aluminum and steel frame sign structures, base plates, pylon signs, pole sections, sign cabinets, aluminum channel letters, awnings, and architectural structures.

Interpretation of detailed shop drawings, artistic renderings, conceptual drawings, and plans to bring to reality with efficiency and structural integrity.
Able to read and interpret structural fabrication drawings.

Communicating effectively with the Production Manager and co-workers.

Keeping track of time sheets on jobs including labor and materials for each project.

Comply with all safety requirements, work rules and regulations.

Have creative interest in the final product and finished look to ensure client satisfaction.

Background, skills and training

Must have at least 2 years of fabrication with Aluminum
Must have previous job experience of 3+ years in Steel Welding
advanced knowledge of welding aluminum is considered an asset.
Have knowledge and training in metal fabrication, cutting materials bending, riveting, bonding, and an interest in the creativity of the sign industry.
Must be self-motivated, passionate about your work and able to get the job done on time and with the upmost level of quality.
You will require creative problem solving skills and be able to overcome challenges.
Must be clean, organized with tools, and able to maintain paperwork. (Basic Computer skills an asset).
Must be punctual
Must have availability to do day shifts Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30pm

This position will appeal to those with strong Welding and fabrication skills who enjoy working with their hands in a fast paced, multidiscipline environment. Every job is custom and different with high reward in seeing the finished product in completion and serving our clients needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

We are looking for a welder who can hit the ground running and start working immediately with little supervision. Must have at least 3 years of work experience (not including school or training). Must be fully capable of reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.

Education:

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

Steel welding: 3 years (required)
Aluminum Welding: 3 years (required)

Language:

English (required)
