Are you interested in truck-mounted equipment parts and eventually becoming a Parts Advisor and or getting your parts apprenticeship? If you have an interest in heavy equipment or commercial truck equipment parts, and have experience with shipping/receiving, and organizing stock, then this is the perfect job for you! We are looking for a Parts Helper for our Nanaimo location.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain an orderly department with parts stored in their proper locations for easy access
Ensure that stock levels are monitored to guarantee the inventory to be just-in-time and consistent with the requirements of the Rail Service and Installation Departments
Accountable for the shipping and receiving of the orders, while maintaining a record for all purchases made
Assist in acting as Falcon’s first-line customer relations representative for all parts needs
Provide administrative and maintenance duties for the branch as required

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Prior experience in a heavy equipment environment
Heavy equipment parts knowledge a definite asset
Forklift certification an asset
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Basic mathematical skills
Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments
Ability to weigh and measure items
Working knowledge of safe lifting methods
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
Computer literacy, including working skills of MS Office including e-mail
Attention to detail in all areas of work
Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Must have a valid driver’s license
