Full job description

The Architectural Technologist plays a pivotal role in drafting accurate and comprehensive technical drawings and plans for the construction of modular buildings. Their work contributes to the successful execution of projects and the realization of innovative architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and blueprints using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.

Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, elevations, sections, and details for modular building designs.

Interpret and translate architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical sketches, specifications, and technical documentation into precise drawings.

Incorporate design changes and updates into existing drawings as needed.

Ensure that drawings adhere to Provincial and National industry standards, building codes, and regulations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design and technical challenges.

Review and revise drawings to correct errors and inconsistencies.

Produce detailed material lists for purchasing.

Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files and documentation.

Assist in preparing presentations, visual aids, and renderings for project meetings.

And other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

Diploma or associate degree in architectural technology or in a related field;

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of related experience as an Architectural Technologist, Drafting Technologist, or similar role. Individuals with less than minimum requirements may be considered on an underfill basis.

KEY COMPETENCIES

Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g., ArchiCad) and related tools.

Knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.

Familiarity with modular construction methods is an asset.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Superior computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, etc.) and ability to quickly learn new technology.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Ability to interpret and translate complex technical information.

Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
