Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with hands-on experience working with various types of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and customer service skills are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and extend operational lifespan.
Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery safely and efficiently.
Assemble, disassemble, and replace components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
Maintain detailed records of service procedures, parts used, and repair history for each piece of equipment.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, HVAC systems, and other industrial equipment.
Skilled in welding, electrical repairs, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting using schematics.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience working with automotive repair principles is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Valid certification or apprenticeship completion as a Journeyman/woman Heavy Equipment Technician is required. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for experienced technicians committed to quality workmanship and safety standards in the heavy equipment industry.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
