Full job description

Title: Arborist

Hours: 8-10 hour shift, Monday through Friday, potential overtime - work available year round

Status: Fulltime, permanent

Location: Sherwood Park

Wage: $30-$40 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role:

Tree Care: Tree/Shrub Pruning, Tree Removals, Brush Chipping, Assessing hazards, Hazard removals
Tree removal
Prepare Tree Equipment & forestry equipment
Safe operation of equipment and vehicles
Maintenance of all gear and equipment
Daily/Weekly/Monthly: Ensure equipment meets company safety standards (conduct pre-trips, safety job site meetings, safe work practices)
Commercial and residential worksites

Experience Requirements:

ISA Certified
3+ years proficient climbing experience and provide own climbing gear
Air Brakes
Proficient in man lift (bucket truck) operation
Extensive pruning and rigging experience
Class 5 with Air (Q), or Class 3 Driver’s License

Required competencies/knowledge/skills/abilities:

Positive attitude, team player, strong work ethic, and ability to communicate with clientele
Competent in assessing hazards, tree rescue and emergency procedures
Physically able to complete demanding work and repetitive tasks
Able to comprehend written and verbal instruction

Desired but not required:

TRAQ and any other related tree work/ chainsaw courses are a plus
Valid First Aid Certification
