Finatics Accounting Solutions is searching for a client focused Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our Outsourced Accounting Team. This position is Permanent Full Time and 100% remote (work from home).
About This Position:
This is a key role within our Finatics Team! This new Finatic will collaborate closely our clients that require payroll solutions.
The ideal new Finatic will be client focus, genuinely caring about each organization, enthusiastic about accounting and numbers, detail oriented and willing to learn and grow with Finatics as we grow and evolve.
Core Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
1) Employee Card Management in Payroll and Time Tracking Systems
2) Gather Payroll Hours for Processing
3) Gather Payroll Benefits and Setup on Employee Card
4) Prepare Payroll
5) Prepare Reports and Schedules that Support the Payroll
Group Insurance Administrator
1) Manage Client Employee Onboarding and Offboarding
2) Ensure Payroll updated with current information
Regulatory Filings and Reporting
1) CRA Payroll Tax Remittances
2) T4, T4A, T5018, 1099s
3) WorkSafe and Workers Compensation
4) EHT
5) Other Payroll Regulations
Payroll Rules, Regulations and Grants
1) Obtain Payroll Certification
2) Champion the Payroll Rules and Regulations across Canada and in the USA.
3) Research Grants Related to Payroll/Staffing
4) Maintain Tables/Charts, etc. of Payroll Regulations by Province/Territory
5) Create Procedure Documents
6) Train Controllers on Relevant Rules and Regulations
Month End and Reconciliations
1) Payroll Accruals
2) Reconciliation of Vacation and Sick Leave
3) Reconciliation of Payroll Benefits
4) Reconciliation of Payroll Related Liability Accounts such as:
a. Payroll Taxes
b. WorkSafe/Workers Comp
c. Vacation
Other:
1) Bookkeeping
a. Accounts Payable Transaction Processing
b. Accounts Receivable Deposit Processing
c. Matching and Processing Bank Feed Items
d. Monthly Journal Entries
e. Monthly Reconciliations
2) Support Client Delivery Teams with items such as:
a. General Mailbox Support
b. CRA Inquiries
c. Other Requests
Systems:
1) Karbon
2) Microsoft 365
3) QuickBooks Online
4) QuickBooks Time
5) QBO Payroll, Humi, Payworks, Wagepoint, GUSTO
6) Group Insurance Platforms
7) Dext
Desired Qualifications:
1) A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation with direct payroll experience working with multiple clients.
2) Experience working with US Payroll.
Essential Qualifications:
1) Enrolled in PCP Program with previous direct payroll experience working with multiple clients.
2) A client centric, cloud solution-finding, continuous improvement mindset to exceed client expectations.
3) A detailed oriented, trustworthy individual with strong organizational and time management skills.
4) A strategic contributor that has a positive attitude, is enthusiastic and eager to learn and is eager to teach new accounting processes and technology solutions.
5) An exceptional verbal and written communicator that collaborates with both Finatics team members and clients.
6) Be a continuous learner with a willingness to embrace innovative technologies that streamline, automate, and optimize processes.
7) Active participation in internal meetings to identify challenges, develop action plans and provide solutions for improvement.
8) Ability to keep client information confidential.

Compensation will be dependent on a combination of education and experience. The salary range for this position is between $54,080 to $66,560 plus fully paid group insurance benefits.
