Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Line Haul Driver from North Bay/Sudbury to the GTA late afternoons and overnight. DZ license is required although an AZ license is preferred. Candidates need to operate commercial vehicles for long-distance freight transportation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely delivering freight across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest safety standards. This role requires a strong focus on vehicle operation, adherence to transportation regulations, and efficient route management to support our logistics operations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate commercial trucks and freight vehicles over long distances according to company policies and federal regulations
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests and delivery logs
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delays, or issues during transit
Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
Adhere to all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies during transportation activities
Assist with warehouse duties such as freight handling and inventory management when not on the road

Skills

Valid DZ driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record (AZ license preferred)
Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques
Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting skills beneficial
Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules
Physical ability to lift heavy loads and operate heavy machinery as required
Good communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and warehouse staff

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
