Position Summary
We are seeking a Hospitality Services Manager to lead the daily operations of our hospitality services at the Marina Point Village site, with oversight of Food Services and Environmental Services. This role leads a service-focused team culture, balances resident experience with operational excellence, and ensures compliance with applicable standards and legislation in Ontario retirement living.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, organize, and manage daily operations across Food Services and Environmental Services to ensure quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction
· Lead, coach, schedule, and support hospitality team members, including onboarding, training, performance management, and development
· Maintain high standards of customer service and respond to resident concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are documented and resolved
· Monitor supplies, equipment, and service quality on an ongoing basis, and implement quality improvement measures
· Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and prepare expenditure reports for review by senior leadership
· Oversee inventory processes and ordering to support smooth operations and service continuity
· Conduct regular team meetings to review operations, resident feedback, quality expectations, and staff concerns
· Partner with Human Resources on recruitment and staffing plans, including participation in interviews and hiring decisions
· Ensure policies and procedures are implemented consistently and that the home meets applicable requirements under the Retirement Homes Act and related standards
Qualifications
Graduate of:
I. An accredited Food Service Supervision or Nutrition Management program, Food and Beverage Management program, or
II. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field, or
III. Red Seal trade certification
· Minimum five years of experience working in hospitality management, preferably in retirement living, long-term care, or a similar regulated environment
· Experience in high-volume or quantity food preparation and menu creation is an asset
· Experience in budget management and administrative functions
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with online ordering processes
· Willingness to actively pursue personal and professional development
· Working knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), sanitation practices, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Occupational Health and Safety, and the Employment Standards Act, 2000
· Food Handler Certification and Sanitation Certificate required
· Familiar with standards set out in the Retirement Homes Act, 2010 and the role of the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority
· Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
Pre-Employment Requirements
· Successful completion of a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, acceptable to the employer, completed within six months prior to start date
· Ability to meet the home’s health screening and infection prevention requirements for work in a retirement community, as required by applicable legislation and public health guidance

· Ability to assess situations, determine urgency and risk, and take appropriate action in the best interests of the retirement community
· Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and effective time management
· Demonstrated understanding of sustainability practices in the hospitality industry
· Knowledge of hospitality industry trends, best practices, and regulations in the Ontario retirement sector
· Knowledge of therapeutic diets and current nutritional standards relating to an older adult population
· Knowledge of standard hospitality practices and procedures
