YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Develop and facilitate the implementation of Health and Safety Management tools (Job Hazard Analysis, Job Task Observation, Incident Declaration forms, Incident Investigation), as well as assisting in developing a Meadowbank Health & Safety Program
Initiate cross-departmental training to improve workflow and streamline the management of risks both at operational level and in larger scope such as H&S risks
Assist in management system audits as well as audits on the respect of Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) efforts
Review and optimize the utilization of H&S software and the standardization of document control and record management site-wide
Perform workplace audits on the implementation of H&S tools (JTO, JHA) as well as streamline departmental safety meetings
Other duties as required

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Sciences or other field related to Health & Safety
Certificate in a Health and Safety related field combined with a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is an asset
5+ years of experience in Health and Safety
Experience in underground mining would be considered an asset
Mining experience is an asset
Experience working in a multicultural environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest
Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada
