Full job description

Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to provide essential in-home care and assistance to individuals in need. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients across various stages of life and health conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisted living, patient care, or senior care, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on clients’ lives through personalized support and caregiving services.

Duties

Assist clients with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Assist with medical appointments or errands as needed
Monitor clients’ health status and report any concerns to healthcare providers or family members
Implement specialized care plans for individuals with dementia, disabilities, or hospice needs

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, senior care, hospice care, or home care preferred
Knowledge of patient care techniques and caregiving best practices
Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or dementia requiring specialized attention
Strong caregiving skills including medication administration and meal preparation
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility support
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently while following care plans and safety protocols
Valid driver’s license is a plus for transportation duties but not mandatory
