We are a growing, boutique-style Human Resources firm located in Barrie, Ontario currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our HR Dream Team! Providing a full complement of in-sourced human resources and health & safety services to our clients across Canada, we are looking for a dynamic individual who is looking to develop not only their human resources knowledge and abilities, but also their recruitment and selection skills in a team environment that works hard and has fun! As our team is very collaborative, it is important that this role be on-site therefore, this is a full-time, in-office position – no remote opportunities.

Under the supervision of the HR Partner and/or HR Generalist, the HR Coordinator will play an integral role in providing human resources support for our clients. The HR Coordinator assists the HR Project team with a variety of tasks and responsibilities that will help to ensure our clients achieve their goals. While performing the tasks as an HR Coordinator, you will be interacting with various employers, managers, and employees in a variety of industry sectors. As a result, you will be provided with opportunities to build your knowledge and skills set. Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment tasks

Drafts and posts job ads as per the project strategy.
Coordinates directly with the client for regular project updates and to coordinate client interviews.
Conducts telephone pre-screens and identifies which candidate should be interviewed by the next project team member.
Conducts in-person/virtual interviews in collaboration with the HR project team and/or independently. Drafts candidate interview summaries.
Conducts active searches when required and prepares pre-qualifying questionnaires as per the project strategy.
Conducts reference checks and forwards completed reference check form to the HR Administrator or HR Generalist to review prior to forwarding to client.

HR Coordinator tasks

Assists in the development of client reports, job descriptions, and orientation programs under the guidance of the HR Administrator, HR Generalist and/or HR Partner.
Develops HR policies, procedures, and handbooks based on the information collected in the client interview.
Develops H&S policies, procedures, and handbooks based on the information collected during the workplace inspection and risk assessment process.
Inserts details into employment agreement templates under the direction of the HR Administrator, HR Generalist, and/or HR Partner.
Assists the project team in setting up employee opinion surveys and drafting reports.
Conducts exit interviews.
Conducts new hire employee check-ins.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in either an HR Coordinator or HR Assistant role, with a strong recruitment focus.
A minimum of activities (i.e. posting jobs, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication).
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, etc.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a solid vocabulary, attention to grammar and punctuation
Excellent client service skills
Demonstrates a high level of integrity
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent research, administration, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple client projects simultaneously
Ability to take initiative and be proactive
Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data and information
