Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Math and Science Teacher for the upcoming academic school year to inspire and educate students in a vibrant learning environment.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster curiosity, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching, a strong foundation in mathematics and science, and a commitment to student success.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in designing engaging lessons, supporting diverse learners, promoting scientific inquiry, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth.

Duties

Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with Ontario curriculum standards that incorporate innovative teaching methods and learning technology tools
Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and achievement
Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback and support tutoring as needed
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and educational best practices to continuously improve teaching effectiveness
Mentor students academically and personally; provide guidance on higher education pathways and career opportunities in STEM fields
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation; prepare reports for school administration
Engage with parents and guardians through conferences to discuss student progress and address individual learning needs

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Science Education, or related field; advanced degrees preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of Islam and contribute positively to an Islamic learning environment
Proven experience teaching math and science at the middle school level; prior classroom management experience required
Strong knowledge of mathematics; a comprehensive understanding of science disciplines
Experience with curriculum development tailored to diverse student needs including special education.
Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex concepts to students of varying abilities
Ability to design engaging lessons that incorporate hands-on experiments like dissections and laboratory work while ensuring safety protocols are followed
Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, grading, record-keeping and instructional coordination
Demonstrated ability to mentor students effectively while fostering a supportive classroom environment
Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and experience preparing students for assessments is preferred
