Cavanagh Concrete Limited was established in 2015 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomas Cavanagh Construction through a partnership with McNamee Concrete. This collaboration combined decades of expertise and shared family values to create a trusted leader in the concrete industry. Thomas Cavanagh Construction, a respected contractor in the Ottawa region, and McNamee Concrete, founded in 1977, both built their reputations on quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Today, Cavanagh Concrete Ltd. continues that tradition, offering a safe, supportive work environment.

We are looking for energetic, hardworking Ready Mix drivers to join our team. These new positions are available at our Carp and Albion locations. Individuals are responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of a ready-mix concrete truck. This role involves picking up and delivering ready-mix concrete to various sites, including roadwork sites, quarries, construction sites, industrial sites, etc. The driver must interact courteously and professionally with coworkers, customers, and members of the general public while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
Safely operate and securely park the ready-mix concrete truck when not in use.
Deliver and pick up ready-mix concrete to various sites including roadwork sites, quarries, construction sites, etc.
Accurately maintain and remit time records and required documentation.
Maintain regular communication with dispatch, supervisors, etc. to coordinate the safe movement of Cavanagh fleet vehicles movements on or around job sites.
Support operations by following dispatch instructions and site-specific safety requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

Valid Class AZ or DZ driver’s license.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant driving experience.
Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
Ability to meet all Company and regulatory safety standards and policies.
Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members, dispatch, site personnel, and the general public.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical ability to lift up to 40lbs to handle truck extension chutes.
Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, irregular shifts, nights, and variable break periods.
Demonstrated ability to safely and responsibly operate a concrete mixer truck.
Sound judgment and responsible decision-making skills.
Ability to read, write, and complete required documentation accurately.
