Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license, or other provincial equivalency, with air brake endorsement. Provision of a driver’s abstract, which is to show a minimum of five (5) year driving record that is free of at-fault traffic accidents, convictions, suspensions and revocations.
Experience
- Substantial and extensive experience in the operation of commercial and heavy equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, salt trucks, and snowploughs.

- Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe proficient manner.
Additional Experience
- Experience in the operation of road graders or the ability to be trained to an acceptable level of proficiency in the grader operation by Parks Canada.

- Ability to identify equipment malfunctions, carry out minor maintenance and repairs, determine the cause and to effectively report them.
- Ability to perform general labour tasks as they relate to roads and grounds maintenance.

Operational Requirements:
Willingness to work shiftwork, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.
